Twilight ForestA fantasy dimension full of bosses, dungeons, biomes, and progression gates

Mod version: 4.0.870 · MC 1.16.5 · Forge 36.2.34 · Java 8 · 1.16.5 = the 4.x branch. Content roughly matches the 1.12.2 era; 1.18+/1.20 versions (5.x+) removed and re-added things, so wikis must match version.

About

Twilight Forest is a portal dimension with permanent twilight, dense forests, fairy biomes, towering hollow hills, and 7 main bosses each gated behind defeating the previous one. You build a 2×2 water pool ringed with flowers, drop a diamond in, and the portal opens. Inside: Naga Courtyards, Lich Towers, Goblin Stronghold, Hydra swamps, Yeti caves, the Ur-Ghast's Dark Tower, the Final Castle. Each region locks behind a "magic shield" until the boss controlling it is dead.

The dimension exists in OneBlock too — you can portal in and out once you have the materials, even though your home dimension is the void. It's the easiest source of large-quantity vanilla resources (wood, stone, ore) for OneBlock players.

Things to do

Getting started

From OneBlock you'll have diamonds and flowers by the time you can build the portal — drop a few flowers in dirt around your water pool, toss the diamond in, jump in once the lightning strikes. Once inside, do not engage anything before you have iron-tier gear. The Naga is the first real boss — circle-strafe him with a sword, mind the charge attack. Carry food (golden apples for the harder bosses), Fire Resistance for the Hydra and Ur-Ghast, and keep a backup set of armor at your home spawn — the dimension's respawn rules can be finicky.
