PsiProgrammable spell-language magic — write spells in a node-graph language, run them as a CAD
About
Psi by Vazkii is unique: spells aren't picked from a list, they're programmed in a visual grid language (the Spell Programmer). Each grid cell holds a piece (Trick, Selector, Operator, Constant) and they wire up like a circuit. Connect a Selector "Caster" → Trick "Break Block in Front" = mining spell. More complex: project a Trick to spawn a particle wall, then break-break-break recursively for vein mining. Spells run on a Spell Drive (memory) inside the player's CAD (assembled tool). Steeper learning curve than any other magic mod in the pack but ceiling is correspondingly higher.
Things to do
- Eat a Psidust to gain the Psi link (one-time)
- Read the in-game Psidex (book) — covers every Trick and Selector
- Assemble a CAD (Casting Action Device) at a CAD Assembler from socket + core + colorizer + battery
- Write your first spell in the Spell Programmer — simple "Break Block in Front"
- Mid-game: vein-mining spells, AOE place-block spells, anti-fall spells
- Endgame: Conjurer's Cube + custom-engineered spells = effectively scripting the world
Getting started
Eat Psimetal Dust (recipe in JEI). The Psidex unlocks with chapters. Spell programming has a steep curve — first spell takes 20 minutes, third spell takes 30 seconds. Stick with it past the first hour and the mod becomes the most powerful thing in the pack.
