Both mods are descendants of the legendary "Big Reactors" — build a multiblock reactor with Reactor Casing walls, fuel rods, control rods, and a coolant fluid (water for "passive" mode = steam → turbine, or "active" mode = direct FE output). Larger reactors output more power but need careful rod placement to manage heat. Steam-mode reactors paired with Reactor Turbines (separate multiblock) get the highest efficiency.
Things to do
- Small 3×3×3 passive reactor — first scalable power source
- Mid-tier: 5×5×5 reactor + 9×9 turbine for FE/t in the 50k+ range
- Tune fuel rod density vs. control rod insertion for stability
- Yellorium → Cyanite → Blutonium fuel cycle (recycle in reactors)
Getting started
Find Yellorite Ore (deep in stone; rare). JEI shows the multiblock structure. Run your first reactor in passive mode for safety — active reactors can lose all coolant and shut down.
