Mod version: v0.3.2g · MC 1.16.5 · Forge 36.2.34 · Java 8 · 1.16.5 = Create's 0.3.x branch. Most CurseForge gallery + YouTube content for "Create" covers 0.5+ on 1.18/1.20, which has features (steam engines, train system, etc.) that do not exist in 0.3.2g.

About

Create lets you build animated factory contraptions — windmills, water wheels, mechanical presses, mixers, encased fans, deployers, drills, mechanical pistons, crushing wheels — and tie them together with belts, gearboxes, cogwheels and shafts to move rotational force instead of energy. Every machine is visually animated; nothing is a black box.

On 1.16.5 / v0.3.2g you have the core kinetic system, contraption movement (Mechanical Piston / Gantry / Bearing), fluid pipes, item belts, ore processing (Crushing Wheels + washing in encased fans), Schematicannon and Cannons. You do not have: trains, the steam engine, modern fluid pumps, refrigerators, redstone links replacing wireless, or many of the 0.5+ blocks. Tutorials that show those will not apply.

Getting started

Andesite is the spine of early Create — make Andesite Alloy (1 andesite + 1 iron nugget) and you can build most starter machines. Zinc is the second early ore (look for it like iron); it crushes into Brass for mid-tier blocks. The first real machine is usually a water wheel feeding a Mechanical Press through a few cogwheels for plate production. For ore processing, the Crushing Wheels pair (built side-by-side, counter-rotating) is the goal — it doubles all ore drops.
